QUALITY & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER / OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE MANAGER - AUTOMOTIVE / OFF-HIGHWAY / RAIL:

I'm looking to recruit an Operational Excellence Manager to join a market leading manufacturer of precision components supplying into various industries including Automotive, Off-highway, Rail and Defence. This is a fantastic opportunity where you will have a blank canvass and can really put your stamp on the role.

THE ROLE: As the Operational Excellence Manager your duties will involve:

  • Work to ISO/TS16949, IRIS and customer specific standards
  • Maintain and update systems
  • Utilise core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, SPC, Control Plans and FMEA
  • Deploy 8D and 5Why to identify the root cause of errors
  • Champion a culture of inclusion and accountability by encouraging employees at all levels in the development and troubleshooting of quality manufacturing processes
  • Develop long term strategic plan for quality and continuous improvement
  • Establish management and measurement systems to identify performance gaps
  • Head up improvement activities to close the gaps
  • Lead cross-functional teams through lean, continuous and process improvement activities to drive KPI in quality, delivery and cost
  • Utilise lean and Six Sigma tools to eliminate wastages
  • Facilitate improvement activities including training, teaching, coaching and mentoring

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Operational Excellence Manager will have:

  • Degree educated in relevant discipline or equivalent
  • Industry recognised qualification in lean, six sigma or similar discipline
  • Previously experience working in the off-highway, automotive, rail or aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated success in leading change and transformation efforts
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong commercial awareness and business awareness
  • Ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels
