Purchasing Manager
Salary: circa £45k

A leading global manufacturer supplying the industrial and retail sector is looking to hire an experienced Purchasing Manager. You will oversee all planning and purchasing for a busy production line, you will be keeping schedules up to date with sales forecasts and maintaining relationships with Far East suppliers.

Key responsibilities as a Purchasing Manager:

- Overall responsibility for a production purchase budget of circa £25 million p.a.
- Overall responsibility for supplier selection and contract negotiations.
- Monitor raw material prices and report monthly commodity price movements.
- Provide detailed monthly reports of material movements to Group Finance Director.
- Strategic purchase of raw materials to ensure "best price"..
- Control, mentor and support Purchasing team to achieve their objectives.
- In conjunction with Group Technical Director take responsibility for "Make V Buy "decisions.
- Responsibility for All Far East suppliers covering all aspects of supply in particular contract negotiations and NPD projects.
- Regular supplier visits both UK and overseas.
- Responsibility to deliver significant savings for Non Production purchase orders over £1000. Annual spend circa £15million.
- Recruit and develop purchasing team to deliver world class materials supply.
- Responsibility for the negotiation of all contracts for site services(canteen,cleaning etc) company cars and the temporary labour contract(Staffline currently).
- Monitor team performance in line with KPI'S eg. Purchase Price Variance.
- Major involvement in our Lean Manufacturing Team strategy.

Purchasing Manager requirements:

The ideal candidate must come a manufacturing environment with international supplier relations as a Purchasing Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

- Proven background in a Purchasing Manager role with direct reported
- Experience in international supplier relationship and contract management
- Proven background controlling budget and reducing external spend High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel. PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong sense of ?business acumen' and analytical skills
- Ability to confidently present to and challenge business leadership
