Senior Project Engineer – Switchgear and Controls – Walsall - £35,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

A market leading business that specialise in the design, development and manufacture of automated switchgear solutions for a variety of industries, are seeking to recruit a highly capable Electrical Project Engineer to support in the design and development of new and existing products from concept through to delivery.

This role will suit a well-rounded Senior Engineer, with in overseeing the design and delivery of electro-mechanical products and solutions with knowledge of the full product life-cycle.

You will be responsible for the following:
  • Overseeing the Design and Development of automated control systems from initial concept through to manufacture.
  • Support the introduction of the product range, acting as a product specialist throughout.
  • Specify components required and work with purchasing to procure the components specified.
  • Work with and support the dedicated sales person with client queries, bids and tenders.
  • To act as an interface between the Engineering Team, Sales, Purchasing and other business departments.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:
  • Previous track-record within Electro-Mechanical Design and Development environment.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical control equipment
  • A good understanding of wiring schematics.
  • Excellent customer technical support.
  • Knowledge of fault finding within installations.
  • Understanding of EN60947-3, EN60947-4-1 and EN60947-6-1 standards.
  • Knowledge of Transfer switches, BMS, motorised switches and power monitoring.
  • Good understanding of electrical installation requirements and the 17th Edition of the wiring regulations.
  • Comfortable interfacing with a wide range of business disciplines and departments.
  • Hands-on and practical attitude to driving through project and process improvements.
