A world renowned Global Manufacturer of automotive components is looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. As a result of the expansion and growth that this organisation is currently undergoing, this is an opportune time to join.
As a Buyer, you will be working as a key member of the purchasing department, supporting the coordination and procurement activity of materials; identifying and realising all cost reduction ideas and opportunities by means of pooling requirements, interrogating costs and alternative materials and suppliers.
Reporting into the Purchasing Manager, you will work together with the operations team on a daily basis, ensuring competitive quotations are obtained and supplier selections are made, considering total business cost. This will include maintenance and development of the approved supplier`s list, involving understanding and evaluating supplier quotations.
You will also work to support project teams when new projects are introduced, monitoring costs throughout to identify and track cost drivers, subsequently ensuring the lowest total costs are secured in line with project timing.
Within this role, it is also essential that you work to ensure compliance with internal purchasing guidelines and systems, working accordingly with cross-functional teams.
In order to be considered for this role, you must be fully qualified or studying towards membership of the CIPS. It would also be advantageous if you carry an additional qualification in purchasing/supply, although this is not essential.
It is vital that you have previous purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, whereby you will consequently possess strong contractual negotiation skills.
You must also have experience of using SAP software and be a competent user of MS Office.
You will show capability of working autonomously and will carry experience of working within project teams, developing and adhering to strict timescales.

This is a full time, permanent position.
Hours of work are: Monday - Thursday (8am-5pm) & Friday (8am - 1pm).
There may also be a requirement for intermittent travel within the UK and internationally.
