First Line Manager
My client is a global leading retailer, and they are currently looking for an ambitous first line manager to join their rapidly expanding distribution network.
The First Line Manager will be responsible for the control of the workflow and organisation of Associates to ensure that the standards of performance, attendance, quality and conduct are met.
Plan and organise resources within the team, influencing the Shift Operations Manager appropriately, to ensure all targets are met
Assist with recruitment to the appropriate level of resource to meet business needs
Develop and monitor all associates within their department, including probationary reviews and monthly and annual appraisals to develop a high performing team
Conduct regular team briefing sessions to deliver company information and to receive feedback from the team to foster team spirit and build morale
Establish and maintain channels of communication between Associates, Management teams, Head Office departments and Safety representatives
Maintain consistency and continuous improvement in results through an analysis of work methodology and an appropriate coaching style
Reinforce Companywide initiatives with peers, line managers and Associates
Implement 'Best Standard Practice' and controls to minimise shrink to accepted location targets
Complete and monitor all reports and data to a high standard of accuracy
Ensure good housekeeping standards are met and maintained in line with responsibilities under the H&S plan.
Able to demonstrate building, developing and managing an effective team
It is essential that you can demonstrate the following capabilities - people development skills, talent management skills, and a management style that focuses on team building through motivational guidance.
Apply appropriate Health & Safety and legislative requirements to the safe running of the department
Ability to prioritise work efficiently, to set and achieve measurable targets and work within set budgets. Able to assess these targets in line with retail peaks and troughs.

Able to clearly communicate at all levels, both verbally and written

THE SHIFT PATTERN -
The operation runs on a 4 out of 7 basis, with 1 in 3 weekends worked. Shifts typically are between the hours of 6AM to 3PM and 3PM to 12AM on a rotational basis.
You will also rotate with your crew, enabling you to establish strong working relationships and progress and develop their careers along with your own.
A salary between £30,000 and £40,000 + Benefits dependant on experience.
