I'm looking to recruit a Logistics Manager to a market leading ecommerce business. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Logistics Manager to manage material planning and warehouse related activities. THE ROLE: As the Logistics Manager you will be required to:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategy and processes to improve overall performance
  • Oversee materials planning, master scheduling and warehouse activities ensuring material supply meets production requirements with optimised costs
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Monitor inventory risks and ensure that contingency plans are in place
  • Heavily involved in continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure that the MRP and data are accurate and updated at all times
  • Create reports and metrics that will be shared with stakeholders within the business
  • Identify ways to reduce inventory levels
  • Getting the best out of staff and identifying training needs
  • Set departmental objectives and KPI's reviewing progress against objectives set
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure suppliers and transportation companies make improvements and cost savings where possible
  • Achieve on time, high quality delivery every time

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Head of Production Planning & Control will have:

  • Degree educated in relevant supply chain / engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Member of CIPS (beneficial)
  • Previously experience working in an ecommerce environment
  • Analytical mind-set with the ability to problem solve
  • Results driven with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Well versed with lean manufacturing tools and processes
  • Strong commercial awareness and business awareness
  • Ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels
