Fantastic Birmingham Academy School are looking to add a number of core subject graduates to their school as learning mentors in September, could you be one of them

Are you a recent graduate in a subject such as English, Maths, Science or Humanities and looking for a support role within a supportive secondary school where you can truly make a difference to learning?

Do you have previous experience working with young people, perhaps in a tutoring or mentoring role?

Graduate Learning Mentor

Core subject degree essential

English, Maths, Science, Humanities degree

Paid up to £300 per week

11-16 Secondary in Birmingham

To apply for this graduate learning mentor role you must be a confident communicator who can engage and inspire pupils within your subject specific degree. You should be able to work with a range of pupils from varied backgrounds and abilities. It is essential you have a 2.1 or above in a core subject degree including either Maths, Science, English or Humanities.

About the role:

This exciting learning mentor role is ideally suited for an aspiring teacher who would like to gain paid experience within a school support role before embarking upon teacher training the year after. You will gain an excellent insight in to what it's like working within education as well as an understanding of how to become an outstanding teacher in the future.

You will work closely with the subject department teachers and the head of department will be on hand to offer dedicated to support and guidance. You will work with targeted individual students on a 1:1 mentoring basis as well as take the lead on some interventions. You do not need to have prior experience running intervention sessions as you will be given dedicated support in order to prepare for intervention sessions. Previous experience is not essential, but the dedication to learn new skills is essential.

Based in an 11-16 secondary school in Birmingham the school is a successful, high-achieving Birmingham secondary academy with excellent facilities and support on offer.
