We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager who has experience of selling within the optics marketplace in the following geographical area:

SR 4310 Midlands (B, CV, DE, DY, HR, LE, ST, TF, WR, WS, WV)

The company in question is a rapidly growing organisations in the ophthalmology arena offering a range of proven, successful brands for the treatment of dry eye and blepharitis. They actively sell products within primary care, to pharmacies and within hospital settings and also have a small team of 8 optical representatives targeting multi-chain and independent opticians (the vacancy sits within this channel).

With sole responsibility for your territory - whilst working as a part of a wider local team - you will sell a comprehensive range of topical products for the treatment of blepharitis and dry eye (plus an oral supplement that offers an additional dry eye management option).

As you will be required to get in front of decision makers such as Optometrists and Practice Managers in order to push deals through and will be expected to explore and develop new business opportunities, we are looking for someone who is extremely self-motivated, tenacious and ultimately focussed on bringing new business on board. Enthusiasm, confidence and the ability to communicate with authority to senior professionals will be fundamental to success in this role.

On this occasion our client is seeking to recruit candidates who fulfill the following criteria:

- Ideally possess previous sales experience gained within the optical sector; we would also be interested to receive applications from individuals with dispensing optician/optometrist experience who are looking for a change of career direction
- Must have a high level of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.

In return, you will be rewarded with a generous salary paid commensurate with experience and current remuneration, company car (or opt out car allowance if preferred), pension, private healthcare, daily allowance plus benefits package and performance related bonus of up to 20% of basic salary.
