Area Supervisor

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum (Dependant on experience)

As the Birmingham Area Supervisor you will be responsible for managing our operational staff and the relationship with our clients. The key skills required are problem solving, people management and strong organization skills. The type of person we are looking for should be proactive and a logical thinker.

Duties of the Area Supervisor:

Management of operational staff including...

- Ensure all staff are signed up to company training & compliance digital systems and are trained and using efficiently.
- Ensuring all rotas are in place to cover the needs of the operation considering peak periods, holiday periods. Review rotas on sites on a regular basis and ensure adequate cover is used when needed.
- Ensure employees / managers are submitting timesheets / holiday and sickness forms within the given timescales.
- Complete and sign off monthly payroll information - pass to line Manager.
- Work with HR to effectively carry out disciplinaries and grievance hearings.
- Liaise with HR to effectively manage new starters ensuring their applications and correct identification are with Head Office within agreed timescales.
- Ensure any new starters have been provided with the appropriate operational and H&S training.
- Conduct appeal hearings where required, liaising with HR.
- Monitor absence levels on sites and engage with site. Problem Solve any on-going issues.
- Identify any training needs for site managers and supervisors

Site Management including?

- Establish a thorough understanding of the site specifications for the sites you are responsible for and monitor the frequencies of all activities and ensuring sites are running within budget.
- Review of the specification on a regular basis alongside the site.
- Monitor and review the cleaning standards by walking the sites with the site supervisor/manager and store manager.
- Review of audit results within timescales agreed by line manager
- Agree action plans with site supervisor/manager to correct any poor audit scores
- Check all machinery when on site
- Asset register to be updated and sent to HO

Client Management including?

- Follow weekly appointment plan provided by Head Office to ensure all clients are met on a regular basis.
- Liaise with Human Resources / Payroll and Operation teams at head office to effectively support site supervisors/managers and maintain excellent customer service.
- Ensure your teams engage effectively and professionally with all central head office functions.
- Liaise with head office on training requirements.

Requirements of the Area Supervisor:

- Experience in the Facilities Services or similar labour market essential.
- Ability to use management software and efficient I.T Skills.
- Ability to influence and gain commitment
- Able to demonstrate customer focus
- High level of planning and organizational skills
- Ability to be flexible with working hours and able to assist with cleaning when cover is needed
- Ability to demonstrate strong personal integrity
- Strong leadership style with a focus on supporting and developing employees
- Proven experience of managing people ideally across multiple sites
- Experience within the cleaning industry or similar labour market.
- Proven track record of dealing with customers
