Title: Senior Procurement Manager - Logistics

We currently have a new opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager - logistics within the Non Meat Procurement team, reporting to the Head of Procurement, within the centralised Group Procurement team, which embarked on a Business-wide Procurement transformation programme in 2017.

You will be be responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and best practice across all distribution, storage and related equipment categories for the UK Business Unit (Tulip Ltd). The role forms part of, and closely aligns with the newly created Group Procurement function, headquartered in Denmark, which operates a matrix 'lead-buyer' structure. Initial focus will be on driving rapid EBIT improvement in line with an already partly developed project pipeline. The role will support the UK Supply Chain Director and his team in all commercial aspects and be a central part of the expected network optimisation project, commencing Q4 2017. Development of a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme with strategic suppliers will be a major component of the role from 2018 onwards.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

Develop and deliver sourcing strategies for distribution related spend categories across the UK Business Unit, consisting of 17 manufacturing sites
Work closely with supply chain stakeholders to deliver already identified and new cost reduction projects that will contribute to EBIT improvement for FY1718 and beyond
Lead/facilitate cross-functional sourcing teams to ensure continued engagement of all stakeholders and identification of further cost saving initiatives
Development of a supplier performance review programme
Development of a SRM programme
Ensure alignment with, and support Group Procurement strategy
Be a point of contact and subject matter expert in the sourcing of distribution related spend categories
Ensure Divisional business requirements are clearly understood and cost reduction opportunities are aligned with them
Maximise spend under contract for all critical, strategic and preferred suppliers, incorporating service level agreements and continuous improvement targets
Ensure Programme Management Office (PMO) reporting requirements are fully supported
Be an 'ambassador' for Procurement within the Business

Essential Criteria

Your Stakeholder relationship building and need to drive contract compliance are key
Recent experience at a similar level in a frozen multi-site manufacturing environment
Must have first-hand experience of at least one distribution outsourcing project
Strong category management experience
Experience of managing change and embedding new processes across fragmented multi-site operations
Experience of SRM and joint cost reduction programmes
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally with accomplished presentation skills
Highly proficient in Excel with good analytical skills
A relevant business or purchasing qualification (CIPS)
Degree or relevant experience
UK clean driving licence
Able to spend 1-2 days a week at Warwick with the flexibility of travelling to other sites and suppliers as required
