Main Purpose of the Job
To work as a Business Analyst focused on Operational Effectiveness throughout the firm. Business Analysis includes understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders.
Working with the legal practice Groups, Leadership Team and business services teams, this role will support and lead efficiency reviews with the objective of improving the operational effectiveness of the firm.
This will include working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to lead analysis of business issues to inform effective, implementable solutions that result in successful delivery of change. The role is expected to influence the end to end lifecycle of a process review, from opportunity identification through to implementation and post implementation review.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Work as part of a team alongside the users of our business processes and systems, to proactively document and resolve business issues to help the firm achieve its strategic goals and continuously improve efficiency.
Analyse new business requirements and assess the impact of these on the business operationally and technically
Provide business analysis throughout the whole life cycle - requirements gathering, requirements analysis, writing functional specifications, solution development and testing through to implementation and measuring business improvements
Recommend actions that will overcome the documented business problems, achieve business benefits or increase efficiency and effectiveness
Document new or amended business processes and assist the firm to implement these successfully
Build and maintain key relationships throughout the firm whilst working closely with project managers and other colleagues to successfully deliver effective solutions
Act as liaison between the legal teams and technical staff, acting as a 'communication bridge' to ensure effective translation of business issues into efficient technical solutions.
Work closely with the IT team where appropriate to deliver technical solutions to meet business requirements
Be flexible with regard to some travel, predominantly between our UK offices and from time to time internationally
Handling confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols
Key skills and experience
Strong change management and communication skills. Experience of delivering change in a professional service environment would be beneficial
Financially literate, with a high degree of business acumen
Business process streamlining qualification or experience (lean, six sigma etc.)
Excellent business analysis skills
Strong IT skills, including process mapping / analysis tools (eg Visio)
Strong facilitation skills, demonstrated through experience of running process business improvement workshops or similar
Organised and methodical, with the ability to successfully work to targets and goals.
