Contract Position based at: Whitley

Position Description:

Engine Test Diagnostic Support (ETDS) support all engine test diagnostics, electrical harness sensor checks to enable engines to start effective testing (data collection) as soon as possible when installed to a dynamometer. The request to the ETDS engineer is initiated via the eTracker request process and is tracked and progressed via this system. The ETDS cover internal Hot Test and Engine test diagnostics and support external world wide dyno operation. The external support is supported via WEBEX dial in and site visits. The countries that may be supported by ETDS is not limited. The ETDS diagnostics team look after electrical definition between engine harness and the dyno link loom to ensure model variants and upgrades are tracked and hardware can be updated.

Skills Required:

1) Base engine development diagnostic skills, engine test knowledge

2) Calibration experience in INCA and or other diagnostic tools

3) Able to operate offsite at external test houses which includes travel abroad

Experience Required:

* Relevant Engineering Qualification (NVQ L3 or above)
* Full clean car driving license
* Experience in engine mechanical and diagnostic electrical experience is required
* Degree or Engineering Apprenticeship
* Experience of Engine Test Beds / Testing
* Experience of fault finding and problem solving
* Experience of working within a team
* Project Management Experience would be advantageous

Additional Information :

This can be a fast paced role that often requires work outside of the standard working day. It could involve occasional travel abroad with short lead times. Support is global where global operations are expanding. 40 hours per week split across 5 days - 8 hours per day - Opportunities for overtime as the business requires. May involve some out of hours work and weekends when global support is required
