I am currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious automotive client based in Whitley, Coventry for a Project Engineer role with their Powertrain department.
The powertrain project engineer is accountable for the ownership and communication of ETS order-to-delivery processes as well as liaising with Engineering and MP&L to understand and track all parts listed as Engineer-to-Supply (ETS). Engineer is required to assist in the ordering and scheduling of all ETS prototype parts to support the engine build and master schedule is also a responsibility of the role. Other responsibilities include; co-ordinating the supply of ETS/RPS parts into all prototype engine builds, supporting issue resolution into build, communicating status of all RPS/ETS parts in Build Planning meetings, ensuring co-ordination, processing and delivery of all ETS prototype engine parts into build, supporting Engine Builds onsite including attending start-up and wash-up meetings as required and supporting resolution of Missing, Damaged or Wrong (MDW) parts supplied to Engine Build. Also, the role extends to supporting random parts audits of picked engine kits.
Key Skills Required:
1) Comprehensive knowledge of base engine systems.
2) Good understanding of ETS/RPS ordering process.
3) Knowledge of Product Development structure and processes. Good systems understanding of GPIRS / WERS release / WIPS system desirable.
Automotive powertrain engineering background is required as well as experience with engine build and prototype build planning and support.
Full driving licence required.
