About the job:
To Lead and co-ordinate a domestic abuse advice project providing domestic violence and abuse education and awareness programme for migrant communities in the Derbyshire area.

Main accountabilities:
-Provide education and awareness programmes to raise the profile of domestic abuse and violence amongst migrant communities in Derby
-To signpost, actively refer and support migrants individuals and their families who are victims of domestic violence and abuse understand and navigate the options available to them
-Provide triage assessments through regular Outreach sessions at Hadhari Nari (Advice Centre), Migration Foundation Project and other locations.
-To recruit and manage volunteers
-To co-ordinate volunteer run activities and support including activity sessions, confidence building, counselling, admin support and pregnancy testing
-Build excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including DVA services, local communities, local authority, partner organization and internal colleagues
-Maintain Accurate and clear records as required by policies and procedures, using appropriate systems to record and maintain up to date information on activities/actions taken and outcome achieved.
-Participate in the monitoring, requirements of the service by providing information and evidence on support activities, outcomes and success stories.

About you:
-The ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of support work in domestic abuse and migrant environment, co-production and working in equal partnership
-Either paid or voluntary experience/skills to set up and deliver/ facilitate groups and forums
-Knowledge/experience of customer involvement, volunteering and peer support best practice
-A sound understanding of the issues and barriers affecting vulnerable people
-Knowledge and understanding of the key legislation and principles relevant to customers accessing this service
-Awareness of Adult safeguarding and Child protection procedures and responsibilities
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Good standard of numeracy and literacy
-Ability to use IT systems and software with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
-The ability to self-direct, manage and prioritise workload.
-Ability to lone work in the community and as part of a team.
