Our client, a renowned global engineering contracting group, is currently looking for an experienced and ambitious Risk Manager to join there team of permanent staff working on a large scale joint venture rail project based in their regional office in Birmingham.

Candidates will perform the following tasks and duties;

- Provide leadership and guidance in the concept of Risk Management, Value Management and lessons learnt whilst maintaining their application to all stages of the project
- Monitor the project so that it complies with Risk and Value Management procedures.
- Facilitate Risk, Value Management and lesson learnt workshops as required.
- Monitor the output of others who undertake such workshops.
- Manage the buy in of external Risk and Value Management support where necessary and delivered to the required standards.
- Own and maintain a high level risk register for the project.
- Own and manage a register and forward programme of Risk and Value Management studies for the project.
- Promote joint evaluation of risks with contractors to establish a basis for risk sharing and incentives.

Candidates will have the following experience;

- Expertise in all aspects of project and business Risk Management facilitation.
- The ability to build cost, schedule and business Risk Models in a number of applications.
- Knowledge of project management and project control processes.
- Knowledge of Risk Management techniques.
- Previous experience of people management.
- Member of IRM or APM Risk Practitioners.
- Previous experience in Network Rail project management processes and procedures.
