Assessment Manager (Fostering) - Social Work Qualified
Foster Care Associates are recruiting for an Assessment Manager to provide a flexible, effective and strategically planned Foster Carer assessment process, in line with statutory and agency requirements in relation to quality and timescales.
This role will be homebased but you will be allocated areas of the UK in which you will be responsible for and therefore significant travel will be required. In addition you will also be required to attend our Bromsgrove office for 2 days per week on a Monday and Tuesday. Areas that you will cover will be discussed at interview but with a view to allocating areas in and around where you are based.
As an Assessment Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Carer Recruitment and Approval process for your geographical areas. You will scrutinise the recommendations of Fostering Advisors and make a decision as to whether carer applications meet the business requirements and are appropriate to commence the assessment process. Thereafter, to manage the transition from assessment decision to the delivery at Panel effectively and efficiently in line with the Agency’s Policy and Procedures. You will have responsibility for managing the progress of assessments including liaison and consultation with Form F assessors throughout the assessment, mid-point consultation, pre-panel visits linked into agreed panel dates, ensuring that quality standards are met and that completed assessments are delivered to the Panel in accordance with companywide Key Performance Indicators, targets and quality standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Hold a Health and Care Professions Council recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent
Must have a minimum four years’ experience as a qualified social worker in a children and family setting of which two years must have been gained working as a Senior Supervising Social Worker in family placement
To be able to evidence an understanding and practical application of the use of IT and electronic communications, including the use of Microsoft Office
Demonstrable experience of Foster Carer Recruitment/Assessment
A comprehensive knowledge of the Foster Carer Recruitment process from generating enquiries to approval (to include the assessment and panel process)
Must possess a full driving licence
