Care & Independence Support Worker - Positive Behaviour Focus​ based in Oswestry, Shropshire offering a salary of £17,300 FTE.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Care & Independence Support Worker - Positive Behaviour Focus to join our Care Team. This role will support students to develop independent life skills and encourage students to assume responsibility for managing themselves in learning and social environments. You will also provide intervention with students in need of behavioural support.

The key role responsibilities of the Care & Independence Support Worker - Positive Behaviour Focus are:

    Supporting residential care staff with aspects of behaviour management in line with agreed cross college low arousal approach Development of strategies/resources to support students with specific behavioural needs Take an active role in supporting students in preparing for daily activities and life skills Facilitate and promote student social integration/inclusion within peer groups where appropriate Administration of medication Promote positive behaviour including one-to-one support where required Support the design and implement positive behaviour support plans Support students in developing personal care skills, according to their care plan and recording of care administered Contribute to on-going behaviour assessments of students Attend student reviews and relevant meetings when required Promote safeguarding and the welfare of vulnerable young adults at all times
Person Specification:

    Proven success of working within a similar role LSA/care qualification – Autism / High Needs/ or Psychology/ Counselling qualifications
  • Have a caring, compassionate and empathic nature
  • Outstanding communication skills with individuals/staff at all levels
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Competent in MS Office
