Permanent Business Development Role based in Derby

Your new company
A company based in Derby are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive on a permanent basis. This growing company has a welcoming and friendly team are looking to expand their pool of talent.

Your new role

  • Able to win new business accounts from competitors
  • Generating new business through researching the market and actively sourcing new leads
  • Confident making a high volume of sales calls to clients, as this is a predominantly office based role
  • Able to overcome objections and think outside the box
  • Willing to make some clients visits off site
  • Confident at approaching new clients face to face at trade events
  • Able to develop excellent long term working relationships with clients
  • Keeping up to date records of all accounts on our in house database
  • Achieving both individual and team targets set throughout the year

What you'll need to succeed

  • Has proven experience within a similar sales focused role (media sales, event sales or B2B sales would be ideal but not essential)
  • Has proven experience in sales and achieving targets
  • Is able to deal with clients of all sizes from small accounts up to large national accounts
  • Has experience in selling a range of products, tailoring them to the client's needs
  • Can offer a consultative sales approach
  • Is able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Can hit the ground running
  • Has excellent communication skills both written verbal
  • Is able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Has a good working knowledge of Word and Excel

What you'll get in return
The basic salary for this role is £17,000 - £20,000 dependent upon experience, and once trained on-target earnings will take the overall salary range to approx. £25,000 - £35,000. OTE is un-capped.
