An excellent opportunity exists with a global manufacturer of construction chemicals / building products and systems. They have an active presence in the UK across a vast product range, and offer a full NBS specification service and has products listed in the BIM library.

They are now looking for a Specification Manager for the East Midlands and West Midlands. In order to join their dedicated, dynamic specification team you will be a highly motivated and driven individual who works well independently but also as part of a team.

They may consider a qualified specification professional with contacts in engineering, surveying and/or architectural practices, or possibly a graduate in civil or structural engineering or architecture, with a real aptitude for sales.

The main purpose of the role is to establish the company's systems in the specification sector across various markets in the construction industry. To communicate with all levels within engineering, building surveying and architectural practices/offices. To obtain and help to maintain specifications, from the initial writing to the installation of the products. To be able to prepare business reports and specification forecasts for the National Specification Manager.

Transparent communication skills are required to represent the company at all levels whether this be trade shows, CPD’s, technical workshops, on site etc.

A full clean driving license is essential.

Responsibilities will include:-

 Arranging meetings with aforementioned specifiers groups.
 To specify full systems where possible.
 Build long lasting relationships and partnerships.
 Awareness of key projects, schemes and frameworks within the region and their progress.
 Problem solving.
 Ensuring enquiries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
 Excellent presentation skills.
 Putting together drawings (sections) etc. as well as NBS specification documents.
 Ability to arrange networking events.
 To maintain and monitor project lists.

This challenging role will suit either an experienced specification professional with a proven track record within the construction chemicals sector, or possibly a graduate as mentioned above with some sales experience and an extrovert and driven personality, with a desire to become part of an ambitious specification team.

The salary advertised with vary, depending on experience as mentioned above. This will include bonus, company car, phone, laptop and pension.
