Development Manager / Project Manager

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary and package: Circa £65,000 (May pay more for the ideal applicant), Pension, and other great benefits

My client based in Wolverhampton pride themselves as an organisation that develops innovative enterprise software systems and works on the leading edge of technology. They also look to innovate in all areas of business and creates innovative enterprise solutions including but not limited to, WMS, TMS, OMS, CRM, ERP and Mobile Applications.

You will be joining a young dynamic team whom strive to push ecommerce forward, so they are Seeking a motivated, Development Manager to join their team, that is growing from strength to strength in recent years, and has also more than doubled its size with regards to staff and revenue in the last year. This role will mainly include; managing a team of 11 PHP, Python and Android Developers on existing and upcoming technical projects, and working closely with senior stake-holders in the business, with the aim to continue to grow the organisations Development team, as they plan to invest heavily in this area.


Purpose of the Role:

Firstly; it is important to know that this role is very much a manager biased role, although you will be expected to be hands on when needed with the development team, so the ideal applicant considered will be responsible to not only mentor other developers in the team and assist when needed, but also roll their hands up and get stuck in with several Technical projects from inspection to completion. - (The percentages on this role will be 75% Managerial / 25% Hands on ideally when needed.)

Key challenges:

  • A seasoned software development project manager with a proven track record in overseeing projects from conception to delivery.
  • Responsible for day-day reporting and responsible for the overall output of the team.
  • Expected to work closely with the board of directors, possessing excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Responsible for regular reporting, ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date and ensuring results are delivered in spite of any challenges.

  • Agile - Although would consider other working methodologies
