We are now recruiting for a Strategic Buyer for our client based in the Midlands, on an initial 52 Week contract.

The Strategic Buyer role will support the Procurement of Construction and Construction Design Services in support of the continued development of the Company's site in Slovakia (European Manufacturing Facility). The candidate will be support the Procurement lead, working with a number of existing Buyers who's responsibility it is to deliver a series of trade packages.

The Role will include:

- Supporting the development of appropriate sourcing strategies, supplier selection and contract management.
- The ability to work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to collate construction requirements.
- Support the development of Procurement Strategies that deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions ensuring project completion on time and to budget.
- Managing suppliers and contracts across a range of construction disciplines for example Ground Works, Mechanical and Electrical, Structural Steelwork, Roofing and Cladding.
- A large amount of travel within the Slovakia, Europe and the UK.
- Ability to work within a team of buyers to enable the delivery of this project - the buyers will be based in the UK and overseas.
- Develop and support multiple contract negotiations to support delivery of major construction projects.
- Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance.
- Deliver value added savings.

Skills Required:

1)Strong leadership and influencing skills

2)Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience

3)Strong buying and negotiating expertise

Experience Required:

MCIPS Qualified or SCIPS Procurement Professional with 2-4 years Construction Procurement experience.

Experience of supporting the procurement of medium-large scale construction projects within tight time and budget constraint.

Experience Preferred:

Sense of business acumen Experience in supplier management.

Negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations.

Preferable but not essential: Experience of dealing with multi-national suppliers and delivering projects outside of the UK.

Excellent communications skills Knowledge of commercial construction contracts such as JCT and FIDIC would be an advantage.

The successful Candidate will be required to spend a significant amount of time overseas in Slovakia and must be an EU Citizen to be eligible for the role.
