Location: Newcastle under Lyme
Customer: JCB Lead Logistics Partner
Grade: circa £60,000 dependent on experience
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

As Head of Operations you will be responsible for ensuring that you drive "best in class" Health and Safety across all operational activities and locations, ensuring that each individual employee understands DHL standards and adheres to them at all times. Lead Warehouse and In-Plant operations for all JCB accounts across UK, India (and potentially other) locations. Manage and motivate the DHL Operational team in order to develop and improve the logistics supply chain and ensure achievement of agreed service levels. Drive standardisation and simplification across all operating sites and areas. Responsible for growth and development of all new business opportunities within the operational sphere of the JCB account. Manage multiple stakeholders within the customers' organisation ensuring satisfaction of all logistics requirements within the scope of the LLP's operational contracted services.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;

Responsibility for the delivery of daily service and operational excellence to JCB in line with the scope of the contract services.
To continue the development of a strong two-way relationship with JCB and other JCB entities to so as to ensure an operational relationship build on trust.
Develop effective strategies and improvement activities to both contribute towards gain share objectives but also to further develop operational growth.
Drive a collaborative approach to operational improvements and or changes across all regions and operational touch points.
Achievement of annual Health & Safety targets.
Matrix management and development of operational teams across multiple sites and geographies.
Managing and increasing the capabilities of the operational teams, through succession planning, development, coaching and training.
To ensure constructive relationships with customer at all levels in both the UK and India.
Continue to grow operations with JCB across all regions.
Arrange and chair customer 4 weekly operational reviews, ensuring minutes are kpt and actions progressed.
Develop strategy for growth for all new customer operations
Actively manage and provide the latest innovation designed to drive operational efficiencies
Build trusted relationships with other DHL businesses to drive integration and collaboration
Champion and promote First Choice at all levels
Matrix management of senior operational team across multiple geographies.
Continued support to Manage and Design teams.
To ensure profitability and growth for the operations
To ensure through the team that all aspects of the business operate within defined corporate and legislative requirements
To foster a culture of continuous improvement and "best in class" cost control
Bring innovation and challenge to current network, being able to lead and shape agenda
Develop a culture of respect and trust, delivering high performance within the team
To deliver team development and succession planning for contract
Ensure full participation on a Daily, weekly basis to attain H&S pro-active measures targets.
In line with development plans ensure that all staff members have annual one2one meetings, and full participation in monthly All Employee Meetings.

Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Active understanding of C4L
Understanding of LLP operations.
Experience of warehouse, in-plant and transport operations
Senior operational management experience
Customer relationship management skills
Significant business and strategy development experience
International experience desirable
Matrix management across global operations desirable
Completion of a recognised / accredited Internal DHL Senior Leadership programme desirable
