EC & I Maintenance Technician - Based in the Midlands - GBP38k including disturbance allowance and prepaid overtime along with generous benefits and pension options - Chemical Manufacturing.

Our client is looking to recruit an Electrical Control and Instrument Technician. The ideal candidate is someone with DCS knowledge, ideally S7 experience, plus you will have 17th Edition for electrical works. Predominately this is a C+I role but you are required to have some basic electrical knowledge as well.

This role primarily requires working within the Maintenance function, but must also be able to support modification and small projects within that discipline. An C&I technician's role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, calibration and testing of all Control & Instrument equipment site wide. These activities can at time require support outside of normal working hours; this is achieved by forming part of a call out rota. All maintenance tasks and activities are reported using Ross maintenance management system, this tool will be used daily by technicians to issue and control work flow and it is you're responsibly for update this system to help identify plant failures. Must work in accordance with site standards, procedures and legislation and keep up-to-date with current requirements by participating in internal and external training.

Education and Experience:

Awareness of PAT and EM Lighting requirements
DCS, PLC and I/O Exposure (Rockwell and Siemens)
Knowledge of Industrial Communication protocols, Industrial Ethernet, Asi, Profibus and Hart
Instrumentation Technology Knowledge and awareness.
Instrumentation Installation, maintenance, test, calibration and Commissioning.
Process Safety Awareness specifically Alarms, Interlocks and Safety Integrity Levels.
Competent in Risk assessment, procedures and permitry
Chemical Awareness
Basic mechanical engineering skills
Good understanding of plant equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers and valves technology.
Awareness of Gas fired heaters.
First Aid awareness
