Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Job Location: Slovakia, Europe, UK

Job Salary: GBP60-GBP63 per hour (dependent upon experience)

Position Description

This Purchase Manager role is responsible for the Procurement of Construction and Construction Design Services in support of the continued development of our client in Slovakia (European Manufacturing Facility). The candidate will be the Procurement lead, working with a number of Buyers who's responsibility it is to deliver a series of trade packages. This will include the development of appropriate sourcing strategies, supplier selection and contract management.

The role will require the candidate to work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to colate construction requirements and lead Procurement Strategies that deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions ensuring project completion on time and to budget. The role will require the management of numerous suppliers and contracts across a range of construction disciplines for example Ground Works, Mechanical and Electrical, Structural Steelwork, Roofing and Cladding The role will require a large amount of travel within the Slovakia, Europe and the UK. The candidate will lead a team of buyers to enable the delivery of this project - the buyers will be based in the UK and overseas

Key Responsibilities as the Purchasing Manager

- Provide strategic procurement leadership to ensure the continued development of the company central European manufacturing facility in Slovakia.
- Manage numerous Stakeholders based both in Slovakia and in the UK to determine best fit procurement route per project
- Develop and lead multiple contract negotiations to support delivery of major construction projects
- Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance
- Deliver value added savings

What you'll need as the Purchasing Manager

3 key skills:

- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
- Strong buying and negotiating expertise

Experience required:

Familiarisation with FIDIC contract terms highly desirable. MCIPS Qualified Procurement Professional with 5 years management experience Experience of managing large scale construction projects within tight time and budget constraints

Experience preferred:

Strong sense of business acumen Experience in supplier management An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations Experience of dealing with multi-national suppliers and delivering projects outside of the UK Excellent communications skills Knowledge of commercial construction contracts such as JCT and FIDIC
