We are currently looking for a Strategic Buyer to work for a major automotive organisation based in UK with travel in Europe.

Job Title: Strategic Buyer

Experience: MCIPS Qualified or SCIPS Procurement Professional

Location: UK and Slovakia

Rate: From GBP38.00 to GBP40.66 per Hour Ltd Co.

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

The Role:

*This Strategic Buyer role will support the Procurement of Construction and Construction Design Services in support of the continued development of our Slovakian European Manufacturing Facility.

*The candidate will be support the Procurement lead, working with a number of Buyers whose responsibility it is to deliver a series of trade packages - this will include supporting the development of appropriate sourcing strategies, supplier selection and contract management.

*The role will require the candidate to work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to collate construction requirements and support the development of Procurement Strategies that deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions ensuring project completion on time and to budget.

*The role will require the management of suppliers and contracts across a range of construction disciplines for example Ground Works, Mechanical and Electrical, Structural Steelwork, Roofing and Cladding

*The role will require a large amount of travel within Europe and the UK.

*The candidate will work within a team of buyers to enable the delivery of this project - the buyers will be based in the UK and overseas

Key Responsibilities

*Provide strategic procurement to ensure the continued development of the central European manufacturing facility in Slovakia.

*Work with numerous Stakeholders based both in Slovakia and in the UK to determine best fit procurement route per project

*Develop and support multiple contract negotiations to support delivery of major construction projects

*Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance

*Deliver value added savings

Skills Required:


1)Strong leadership and influencing skills

2)Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience

3)Strong buying and negotiating expertise

Experience Required:

*Familiarisation with FIDIC contract terms highly desirable.

*MCIPS Qualified or SCIPS Procurement Professional with 2-4 years Construction Procurement experience

*Experience of supporting the procurement of medium-large scale construction projects within tight time and budget constraints

Experience Preferred:

*Sense of business acumen

*Experience in supplier management

*Negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations

*Experience of dealing with multi-national suppliers and delivering projects outside of the UK

*Excellent communications skills

*Knowledge of commercial construction contracts such as JCT and FIDIC would be an advantage

Additional Information:

*The Candidate will be required to spend a significant time overseas in Slovakia.

*This role is estimated being in Slovakia Monday - Friday from October until May, flights and hotels are booked through the company in house booking system and expenses can be paid on a weekly basis.
