Overview (Maintenance Engineer)

An excellent opportunity a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work in a recently upgraded automated facility within the FMCG arena .

Job Purpose (Maintenance Engineer)
o On a day to day basis, respond to all maintenance issues in the Production Environment.
o Deliver Engineering Maintenance in a cost effective manner.
o Follow the production maintenance plan, to ensure that the machinery performance and availability is achieved at all times.

Responsibilities and Role Objectives (Maintenance Engineer)
o Maintain tool and part inventories and the condition of the Engineering area to ensure adequate working conditions.
o Assist in the development and introduction of maintenance policies and procedures.
o Complete arranged worker training in safety, repair, maintenance techniques, operational procedures or equipment use.
o Carry out maintenance work ensuring conformance to standards and repair requirements.
o Identify when materials and supplies such as tools, equipment and replacement parts need reordering.
o Carry out all assigned activities effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and regulatory requirements.
o Achieve rising standards of machine reliability through the use of planned maintenance.
o Follow maintenance operating procedures.

Essential Skills (Maintenance Engineer)
o Proven knowledge and experience in maintenance or related industry experience.
o Requires experience in mechanical installation and maintenance work on plant electrical systems and equipment.
o Requires a broad knowledge of controls and mechanisms.
o Proficient in troubleshooting, design and optimisation of pneumatic systems.
o Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to apply in an engineering environment.
o Self motivated.
o Drawing and tolerance literacy.
o Ability to solve technical problems
o Knowledge of problem solving and analysis tools (FMEA, 5 Whys or equivalent).
o Knowledge of automation systems.
o Meticulous with good attention to detail.
o Excellent organisational and planning skills.
o Project experience including new process, product, machine and tooling introduction.
