Hancox Gas and Plumbing are based within the Sutton Coldfield area and covers surrounding areas such as Four Oaks, Lichfield, Tamworth and the West Midlands. We provide a wide range of services and have a vacant position for a qualified, competent, bathroom fitter / plumber. The successful applicant will be required to be multi skilled and the is required to have a NVQ level (or equivalent) in plumbing and a minimum of 5 years industry experience with a full driving licence.

Overall Purpose of Job

To carry out plumbing and heating repairs, bathroom & boiler installations, boiler and fire servicing, in occupied, and empty properties, in a courteous and polite manner, recognising the Hancox Gas and Plumbing customer care philosophy.

Main Responsibilities

- Carry out repairs by fault finding to domestic heating/plumbing systems and appliances
- Complete & retain accurate logs of work undertaken and materials used
- Install domestic heating/plumbing, sanitary ware systems and appliances
- Install full bathrooms including all associated works and fixtures.
- Carry out repairs to hot and cold water systems, sanitary ware and drainage systems
- To liaise with client concerning the timing and progress of work being undertaken
- Undertake, where necessary, associated work including minor building repairs, tiling & carpentry works as identified on site
- Identify, from inspection, materials required to carry out repair or installation to the required standard
- To ensure the safe handling and storage of all tools and equipment, including regular checks for road worthiness on Hancox Gas and Plumbing vehicles, for which you are responsible
- Undertake all work in accordance with safe working practices
- Manage, control and be responsible for a stock of materials held within a van supplied by Hancox Gas and Plumbing

Decision Making

- Make effective decisions on the best, most cost effective, method of repair to ensure value for money and the best possible service to the customer.
- Carry out right first time repairs wherever possible to minimise disruption to customers.
- Ensure work is carried out in compliance with all current building regulations, Gas Installation and Use Regulations, Potable Water Regulations and bylaws to ensure customers safety and Hancox Gas and Plumbing compliance with the above.

You will be supplied with a company van, uniform and will receive the usual benefits including Pension Scheme.
