The role

I am currently seeking an Ophthalmic Engineer to join the UK operations of a global leader specifically working on the company's range of ophthalmic equipment.
In particular this role will focus on laser eye corrective surgery laser equipment and OCT.
Knowledge of Keratometers , filed screeners and auto refractors.

You will be ensuring the smooth and continued operation of new and existing products and equipment, through repair of emergency breakdowns and routine service maintenance duties. There will also be a degree of responsibility surrounding installations, this will include; installing new equipment and systems and demonstrating equipment as required.

The successful candidate coming into this role will work to support issues both onsite and remotely, this means that the role is quite autonomous and would require excellent time management skills. Due to the customer interaction and support element to this role, exceptional communication skills will be required.
The candidate should also have experience working in NHS sites.

This is a mobile position which will suit someone based in between Leicester and Birmingham in the Midlands.
Locations such as these would be suitable; Leicester, Hinckley, Tamworth, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, etc.

The requirements

You will have a full UK driving license, but aside from that:

- Strong Electro-Mechanical engineering skills (2+ years working experience).
- Track record of working with ophthalmic equipment.
- Relevant engineering qualifications.
- Good level of IT skills across software, networking and Microsoft.
- Can fault find confidently to component level.
- Be able to report and complete documentation on work completed.
