Welding Engineer required for exciting permanent opportunity with my client who are a leading manufacturer in the aerospace industry. Part of a global group this site has the site has approximately 130 people with a turnover of circa GBP50 million. With a fantastic salary around GBP40K dependent on experience and a great benefit package.

As a Welding Engineer you will be responsible for the developing welding and brazing techniques, procedures and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals mostly stainless steel and titanium, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metal alloys, and engineering principles. Investigate production issues with a view to reducing the number of weld and braze reworks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced welding production engineer to have a significant impact on the welding cell which is the largest cell on site.

As a Welding Engineer you will have the perform the following functions:

- Develop and validate weld process sheets and welding parameters for production welding stations including manual and orbital welding.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the shielding gas system and track consumption rates and mixture.
- Develop, conduct and coordinate welder training classes for support technicians in application and validation of weld process.
- Implement process improvements due to weld failure and defects.
- Develop welding techniques and procedures.
- Evaluates new developments in welding for application to current problems or processes.
- Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them.
- Lead area in achieving plant quality objectives/goals.

Salary circa GBP40k plus benefits
