Powys County Council is entering an exciting time of change, providing us with an opportunity to fully utilise the platform of the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act, putting children and families at the centre of our practice to make sure that we make a difference and ensure our approach is informed by 'what matters' to our children, young people and their families, along with our integration with Powys Teaching Health Board. We are ambitious for our children, young people and their families and are focussed upon making a difference to their lives by supporting them to improve their life chances and through a range of interventions support them in enabling sustainable improved outcomes.

Within Children's Services we have moved towards a localities model across Powys, with four main localities (two in the north of the county and two in the south) providing statutory work and intensive early help services to children and families and integrated services with our statutory and voluntary sector partners that will provide a range of support and services across the continuum of need.

We are looking to recruit two social workers. We are interested in hearing from creative, experienced, passionate and determined practitioners and managers who will focus upon delivering effective high quality support and services.

You will receive high quality regular reflective supervision, have manageable case-loads, opportunities for development and to work with children and families with the support of our statutory and voluntary partners. We also provide a generous re-location package and a lease car scheme for qualifying candidates.

If you feel you have the determination, skill and passion needed to work with our children, young people and their families, as well as the desire to help us to drive forward our plans to deliver high quality, integrated, innovative and creative services for the citizens of Powys, then we look forward to hearing from you.
