Based in Birmingham my client primary school is keen to recruit a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to work with their SEN pupils. This is a full time, term time position that commences at the start of September and will run until next July.

The school is a large 2 form entry primary school with close to 380 pupils. The school has a fantastic ethos with an all inclusive policy so all children succeed regardless of their starting point when they join the school. The senior leadership team are committed to providing the highest standards of education and care so that on leaving pupils are ready and equipped for secondary school.

As you would expect with a school of this size there are a number of pupils with special educational needs. These needs range from emotional and behavioural to more complex learning difficulties -ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and speech and language needs. The school are looking for a graduate who has experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs either in a school setting or in an 'outside' organisation. If a candidate has experience as a speech and language therapist or with sign language / Makaton and PECS this would be a welcome bonus.

This position is a combination of academic achievement combined with the skills and personality to make a genuine difference in young pupils learning. By removing barriers to their progression in school everyone will see the benefits. This role calls for a real professional as you will be liaising with teachers, the senior leadership team and at times professional service organisations.

This position will provide the successful candidate with some fantastic experience and provide the ideal spring board for a successful career as a teacher or educational psychologist.

If you have the necessary experience and qualifications then please email a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today.
