Nursing Care: A Little Extra Help

Our team of registered nurses and carers provide round the clock care and support for each residents according to his or her individual needs. And when more care is needed, it's there for them.

To begin with, we take a detailed health assessment and create an individual plan for each resident. So whether we need to keep an eye on the resident's weight or blood-pressure or medications, it's all in the plan.

What's more, we have strong links with medical practices in the community which means when outside help is needed from a GP or physiotherapist for example, it is on hand. In fact, a retained GP comes to visit the home once a week.

About the Home

There are two Demetia suites catering for Residential and Nursing Residents both suites are self-contained and provide a safe environment for Residents to explore including an enclosed garden.

Residential - has 12 rooms of which 11 have en-suite facilities.
Nursing - has 15 rooms of which 14 have ensuite facilities.

Bedrooms have brightly coloured "front doors" and the environment is stimulating to the senses visually and to the touch. Staff do not wear uniforms and provide care in a collaborative manner with Residents giving emphasis to choice and meaningful activities.

Although there have to be some routines during the day they are kept to a minimum and Residents are given as much variation and choice as they individually desire.

In recognition of the home's efforts to improve care and environments for Residents with Dementia, it has attained the Dementia Care Standards award for the past 3 years running
