Purchase Ledger Clerk required

Salary of GBP18,000 - GBP20,000 per annum

A vacancy has arisen within the finance department of a growing SME for a permanent Purchase ledger clerk. Reporting into the Management Accountant the main duties of the role will be to process purchase ledger transactions ensuring that all invoices have been correctly processed and authorised.

Responsibilities to include -

  • Processing purchase ledger transactions ensuring that all invoices have been correctly processed and authorised
  • Checking the invoices accuracy, nominal posting and verification back to authorised purchase order
  • Deal with supplier queries and their resolution
  • Analysis work on the purchase ledger area will also be required
  • Assisting on the sales ledger and the purchase order management system.

The successful candidate must have previous experience of other purchase ledger accounting systems. The candidate must have a good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems and have past experience of using computerised purchase ledger systems. The candidate must be able to work diligently, accurately and in a methodical way to ensure that the ledger systems are under control at all times.

The successful candidate must have experience of using excel, and have good English and mathematical skills.
