Due to expansion my client's school is looking for a full time Graduate Learning Mentor in their English department, to start this September on a full time basis, during term time. The school, based in an attractive part of the LEA, is one of the borough's best performing schools with a tradition for academic excellence. As the school grows much of the older buildings are being modernised along with the development of new buildings to house their sixth form.
Their English department are looking to recruit a graduate of English to work closely with their GCSE and on occasion A Level pupils as a Teaching Assistant. The department has a fantastic tradition of achievement with high expectation of the teaching staff and its pupils. Due to these expectations they are only wanting to employ English graduates who have graduated from well respected universities and have unrivalled levels of academic achievement at GCSE and A Level. Any prior experience of supporting or working closely with young people will also stand candidates in good stead.
It's essential you have a passion for English and literature and a desire to share your knowledge with pupils. You will also need the ability to adapt your approach dependent on the ability of the pupil(s) you're assisting.
This position is ideal for those that see themselves as future teachers, either as an English Teacher in a secondary school or a Primary Teacher with a literacy specialism. It's a hard work but at the same time very rewarding as you see improvement in the pupils you help.
If you're committed to Education and meet the above criteria, then please send in a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today.
