This company develops and sells software for managing student accommodation to UK universities and private providers. Established in 1998 it is based in Ludlow, South Shropshire. Thia company employs 16 staff with an experienced development team of six. We've successfully trained apprentices in the past leading to full time employment with our company and our team provide excellent support and direction.

We provide a great working environment in newly built offices on Ludlow Eco Park with excellent facilities including fibre connections to the internet, up-to-date IT equipment, kitchen, shower, changing room, bike and car parking.

Seeking an enthusiastic individual for an IT helpdesk apprentice position, with an established software development company in Ludlow, South Shropshire that's a Microsoft tier one Cloud Solution Provider and a Microsoft Silver Application Developer. We develop and supply software used by 1 in 4 UK universities and many private operators to manage student accommodation. It's used by over 100,000 students a year.

Key Responsibilities:

This as an important role that requires great skills, which we'll help you build. It involves communication with customers and internal staff, so requires someone with an aptitude for dealing with customers as well as a strong interest in technology. You'll complete the Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Technician programme and provide first and second line help desk support.

We'll involve you in customer work from the start by asking you to:

- Apply patches to existing customer databases across Database, Web, and Application tiers
- Upgrading customer databases to new releases
- Undertake Azure server housekeeping - create new users, check backups, emails, space etc
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for our application - both technical and general support

You'll handle tickets raised by customers that require application and technical troubleshooting, plus planned work for database administration, patching and upgrades. You'll deal with customer's systems many of which are running on Microsoft Azure.

Required Skills:

- Confident in communicating with people, both face to face, over the phone and electronically.
- Interested in becoming technically competent in a broad set of technologies that include Window Server, IIS, SQL Server and Microsoft Azure.
- Someone who likes to solve problems and can handle complex challenges and wants to learn.
- Willing to take on responsibility and who is pro-active, rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Someone with great organisational skills and attention to detail.
