£15,600 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Inclusive Education Practitioners (IEPs) to join a leading education services provider, on a permanent basis, at either their Stoke orStaffordsite.

The company is leading the way in providing bespoke and rewarding educational programmes to young people, who in the main, have been disaffected from the mainstream curriculum, and who have experienced education as a challenge and frustration. They do this through providing a friendly, fun, hands-on approach to learning with a blend of classroom, adventurous and enrichment activities.

The Role
Reporting to the Education Manager, you will be working alongside other IEPs and will contribute to the continued learning of SEN learners, aged 11-16, on a 2:1 or 2:2 staff/student ratio, as a mentor and role model.

As the Inclusive Education Practitioner your duties will include:

  • Mentoring and supporting SEN learners, as well as being a role model;
  • Assisting in the development of progressive curriculum based learning;
  • Preparing learner material based on initial assessments, required targets, skills and interests, as well as their emotional needs;
  • Delivering learning objectives within the agreed time frames;
  • Marking work and conducting on-going achievement assessments;
  • Daily reporting on learner’s progress and barriers to learning;
  • Interacting with parents/care givers on a regular basis.

The Candidate
To be a successful Inclusive Education Practitioner you will have the following skills and experience:

  • You must be over the age of 18;
  • Hold a full UKdrivers licence;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Be a good mentor/role model and be able to engage with SEN learners on their level;
  • Emotionally resilient, non-judgmental, calm and patient;
  • Good problem solving skills and a strong desire to thrive in challenging environments;
  • Well organised, able to prioritise work objectives alongside learner needs;
  • Two or more recognised outdoor qualifications are preferred, but not essential, as full training will be given to the right candidates;

You will be working 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, during term-time only.
