Senior Supervising Worker - Permanent - Independent Fostering Agency - West Midlands

Aurora Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of a well established Independent Fostering Agency who are seeking a passionate Supervising Social Worker to join their team on a full time, permanent basis, also offering a low caseload. This reputable IFA has a big focus on positive family feel, with the aim to ensure positive outcomes for looked after children. The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the operational delivery of an effective Fostering Service that positively promotes the Every Child matters outcomes for looked after children.

The Role:

• Liaising with the Registered Manager in developing the fostering service, and also investigating any incidents following procedural reporting as required by Ofsted.
• To assist the Registered Manager in their absence.
• Undertaking auditing duties as required for plans and also files following the relevant legislations and procedures.
• Supporting supervising social workers as required, such as undertaking annual appraisals and training plans
• Contributing to and quality assuring (when needed) foster carer training and annual reviews
• Undertaking all unannounced visits to fostering homes as a ’checks and balance’ process
• Carrying complex cases and/or making decisions in complex cases when required
• Undertake a range of assessments as required
• Attend Family Foster Care Management meetings as requested or instructed
• To keep abreast of new legislation, guidance, policy direction, effective good practice and research in order to maintain high levels of service and practice
• Monitor and ensure that training and supervision for foster carers is taking place in line with agency procedures.
• Attend Placement Planning Meetings ensuring they happen within the required timescale and taking action if not
• Be proactive in Permanence planning meetings at the child’s 4 month statutory review - take action when appropriate
• Monitor the foster carer’s portfolio of evidence (as above) and sign off where appropriate

The Candidate
• Must have relevant post qualification experience of working in a fostering team as a social worker
• The post holder must have a good understanding of Local Children’s Safeguarding Board procedures
• The candidate must also be HCPC registered with a recognised social work qualification, and must be able to drive.
• To also participate in the Out of Hours Duty System

Financial Details

The salary is from £31,000 - £36,000 per annum + Company Car.
