Job Purpose

- To ensure that all suppliers and service providers to NRB are measured regularly via audit against their Quality Management System and that remedial actions are resolved whilst driving QMS improvements in asset performance, safety, reliability and efficiency.
- Drive an ethos of continuous improvement within the supply chain, and NRB Asset functions.
- Investigate reports of faulty asset equipment in conjunction with the NRB Asset Integrity teams, determining root cause, developing and delivering corrective action plans.

Technical Capabilities (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)

- Demonstrate strong leadership, influencing, collaboration, customer focus and communication skills, providing the ability to support and communicate with colleagues at all levels.
- Detailed understanding of appropriate legislative requirements, company policies and procedures.
- Significant manufacturing quality experience from a broad range of Industries, manufacturing processes and their associated supply chains.
- Strong quality management system knowledge, commercial awareness and project management experience.
- Experienced in formally assessing new, potential and existing suppliers through external audit.
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing quality processes
- Excellent knowledge and experience of manufacturing process improvement (e.g. "Lean")
- Experience of identifying and developing continuous improvement opportunities in external organisations using a recognized methodology.
- Experience of developing and managing effective supply chain balanced scorecards or similar.
- Experienced quality system auditor.
- Effective management of internal and external processes using data and audit.
- Proficient in stakeholder management and communications.
- Deep understanding of process control and management tools and techniques.
- Experienced member of product design & development teams.
- Experience of working with overseas supply chains, direct and extended.
- Ability to bring creative and innovative ideas to developing and delivering solutions.
- Capability to identify long-term risks and issues and focus on high potential risk.
- Effective, systematic problem solving e.g. Lean Six Sigma, 8D.
- Skilled at developing and working with and through multi-disciplinary teams.
- Requires ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to make decisions or recommendations on available information.
- Expert ability to manage and validate changes in component materials and manufacturing processes (PPAP).
- Experienced in new product development, change and introduction (FMEA / APQP).
- Detailed understanding of Quality Management Systems including PAS 55 and ISO9001 and internal/external processes.

Key Accountabilities

- Develop and drive change management within NGV inspiring and engaging others in process led activities through collaboration to enhance value and commitment.
- Develop control and audit the NGV Quality Management System in accordance with the requirements of PAS55.
- Provide Quality Assurance support specifically in developing and standardising designs and delivering projects safely.
- To support the Asset Strategic Procurement Manager in deploying an effective continuous improvement programme across NGV's supply chain, using structured and in-depth problem solving methodologies.
- To support the Asset Strategy Procurement Manager in developing , implementing and improving "best practice" QMS policy, processes and measurements with NGV and its supplier base.
- Drive suppliers towards world class performance from their manufacturing processes and quality systems using robust measurement data, effective process auditing and follow up: to supply NGV with world class assets and services.
- Support NGV procurement events with structured process evaluation of potential and existing suppliers, include on-site assessments where necessary.
- Liaise with NGV's Technical teams to provide manufacturing input on design development (including Design for Manufacture), specification review and problem resolution & containment.
- Strategically influence ways of working through innovation and standardization throughout NRV and the contractor base in order to drive high quality designs and efficiency.
