Regional QSHE Business Partner (East Midlands)

Kuehne + Nagel's Corporate Finance supports business development, growth, profitability and transparency across Corporate Accounting, Corporate Controlling, Corporate Tax Management and Financial IT.

The purpose of the role is to actively work with management teams in the implementation of QSHE requirements ensuring that company and legal standards are implemented as directed by line manager.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Delivering support to the business as directed by his or her line manager in accordance with any current approved service level agreement
  • Act as business sector lead on QSHE matters by attending sector management meetings
  • Represent the business in enforcement liaison at a regional level
  • Produce QAR (QSHE Activity Reports) following site visits/QSHE meetings etc
  • Assist the customer transition and integration team on new premises and business
  • Advise HR, finance, procurement, fleet and other departments as necessary on QSHE matters and management systems
  • Inform local management of changes to and new legislation related to QSHE
  • Carry out audits and inspections
  • Deliver standard training packages, and develop and deliver ad-hoc bespoke training workshops and toolbox talks as required
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships both within the supported region and QSHE team
  • Attend sector management meetings and site QSHE meetings
  • Contribute to the improvement of QSHE systems within the business
  • Carry out risk assessments for hazards of complex nature requiring qualified technical input
  • Identifying good practices and best practices and communicating them to the business
  • Receiving and analysing data on incidents and claims to identify areas that require resources
  • Managing personal resources within the context of national QSHE objectives to achieve efficient and targeted delivery of support
  • Attending monthly national QSHE BP team meetings

Your skills and experience

  • Level 6 H&S Qualification (i.e. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
  • GCSE (Equivalent) English Language, Maths
  • Lead auditor status desirable
  • Associate membership of IEMA desirable
  • Experience gained in a related industry
  • Demonstrable experience in a QSHE or health and safety full time role
  • Chartered membership of IOSH (or working towards)
  • Multi-site experience, working in a matrix management structure
  • Experience of logistics management desirable
  • Working knowledge of management systems including OHSAS18001, ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Proven ability to analyse data; draw logical conclusions and apply them in an operational environment
  • Good report writing skills
  • Full UK Driver's license as this role has multi site responsibility
  • The role requires above average mobility: i.e. at least 50% of working time will be spent away from job location; with approximately 1 night out per week.
  • Very occasional international travel
  • Can work with and or near alcohol
  • Can work unsociable hours when required
  • Accepts CRB check requirement (potential for work with vulnerable persons)
  • Accepts a driving assessment and any remedial driver training as required by the company
  • Has no medical condition or illness that precludes working in: a food environment, within strong magnetic fields, at height, within confined spaces, and within high risk environments
