- Provide a structural analysis capability and design support to the Body Engineering team. This will entail the use of CAE tools and other calculation methods to assist in the design of components, systems and full vehicle to meet performance, weight and cost targets.
- Construction of finite element analysis models within existing naming, numbering and model construction processes;
- Generate the modal alignment charts and determine global vehicle stiffness targets
- Liaise with NVH attribute team to develop Body targets
- Assist elsewhere in target setting process, including development of Design Specifications;
- Responsibility for leading the Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) process and ensuring that components/systems meet all relevant targets;
- Selection of appropriate CAE hardware and software systems;
- Development of CAE methods and processes;
- Provide support to the Body Engineering CAD teams, including advice on geometry, materials and fixings;
