We are looking for a Production Manager with fabrication and machine shop mechanical engineering management experience for a permanent position in Staffordshire.

Working as the successful Production Manager, you will be managing a skilled workforce, buyers and back-room staff.Responsibilities will include:
  • Production scheduling and control to meet customers delivery dates and company targets.
  • Contract review and management through purchasing, production and delivery including management of any production problems that arise.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, wage negotiations, setting employment contracts and management of production staff.

  • Liaison with other departments to ensure efficient production and continual improvement e.g. accounts, sales and engineering.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to and all employees are assessed on starting work and are aware of the rules and their responsibilities.
  • Implementing and maintaining the current quality control standards to the satisfaction of our Clients and independent assessors.
  • Customer liaison - Key Client maintenance / development and management of current production customer queries. Including site infrequent visits and meetings.
  • Advising FD on monthly Invoicing and work in progress.
  • Regular assessment of production department requirements and budget together with submission of any new requirements or changes to the board of directors
  • Checking and producing quotations for sub contract work.
  • Checking / preparing material lists.
  • Any other general management related duties that may be required from time to time.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial viability of department.
  • Reject rate and cost-effective resolution of problems.
  • Prompt response to customer needs.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of departments requirements and performance.
  • Continual improvement and cost reduction approach.
  • Time keeping and application.
  • Keeping the board informed of modern production developments.
