We are currently recruiting a Supply Chain Manager on a fixed term contract for a business based in Birmingham.

Role:
Manages and coordinates the company's logistic and supply chain function including acquisition, warehousing, material management and distribution/transportation to meet company's business requirements across the UK.

Representative Activities:

  • Working within corporate strategies and policy frameworks, designs, proposes and implements logistic and supply chain strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the organization to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs in a changing environment
  • Optimises the UK supply chain from European and mid/far East
  • Develops logistics and warehousing strategy and implementation for a growing business with evolving customer needs
  • Is responsible for the Sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and delivery across the UK business
  • Manages purchasing of materials and equipment to ensure an uninterrupted supply at optimum cost
  • Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and warehousing of incoming and outgoing materials and distribution of products
  • Is responsible for the warehousing strategy across the 4 sites in the UK; Optimises warehouse pick locations across UK; Delivers project for the integration of warehousing functions
  • Ensures the integration of sales forecasts, purchasing, production control, traffic, and warehousing to support a manufacturing operation and optimise costs
  • Develops and implements the demand planning function in line with group requirement
  • Structures and implements an effective supply chain team for the business
  • Manages and motivates the Logistics and Supply Chain team; reviews and assesses performance, builds employee capacity, supports their professional development and enables employees to optimise their contribution to the department

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven track record in a similar position, extensive Supply Chain management experience in a multinational company/group of companies.
  • Experience in Optimisation of warehousing
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Track record of delivering change whilst maintaining/improving performance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
