Specialist Engineer - Powertrain

IC Resources is working with a highly regarded automotive business based in the West Midlands to find a Specialist Engineer for a period of 9 months.

The role will involve:

*Monitoring future powertrain technologies and developments in academia and the industry
*Creating new research projects and identifying suitable worldwide external partners (including universities) to collaborate in this work
*Project managing research and development activities using suppliers, CAE and design teams, cross functional project teams and management. Report to senior management at required intervals.
*Organise and run vehicle, engine, and system tests.
*Analyse data and recommend design changes.
*Identifying funding requirements and source for projects

Essential skills required:

*Excellent planning and project management skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, good communication skills (both verbal and written), and a good team player
*Good working knowledge in at least one of powertrain systems: Primarily Exhaust or Fuel Systems. Air-intake and Urea systems may also be considered.
*Working knowledge of automotive powertrain requirements concerning performance, fuel consumption, emissions, durability, NVH, and quality.
*Good working knowledge of alternative/advanced materials
*Good knowledge of automotive industry, including competitor and market awareness
*Experience of high level programming and analysis tools
*Experience of CAD tools such as CATIA
*Master degree desirable
