A well-established international metals and industrial group, specialising in commodities, metals recycling, manufacture of steel, aluminium and engine products are looking to recruit for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their in-house manufacturing team.

Suitable for: Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, NPI Engineer

The Role

As Manufacturing Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the smooth introduction of new products into production, including highly complex BIW panels and assemblies used on some of the most aspirational brands within the automotive and rail industries.

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Quality Engineers position will include:

Reporting to the NPI Program Manager this position is to manage all Quality Engineering aspects of delivering new products into the business in line with customer, TS16949 & AS9100 requirements.

Report weekly project status to project Engineer NPI program Manager.

Implement improvements

New product introduction including liaison with the customer, manufacturing, quality, logistics and purchasing from specification to production handover.

Develop measurement strategy aligned with customer specifics.

Liaise with customers with product development projects concerning cost savings, engineering changes and product quality related matters.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Manufacturing Engineers position will have the following experience:

HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Minimum of five years' experience working within an automotive environment ideally within assembly/resistance welding processes

Understanding of customer Product Quality expectations.

Ability to read engineering drawings and ideally experience/knowledge of CAD.

Experience within TS16949/AS9100 environment.
