Do you have a scientific degree and extensive experience using a variety of laboratory capital equipment?

We are seeking candidates to join a worldwide leading supplier of scientific instrumentation and consumables as a Capital Equipment Specialist.

You will be responsible for driving sales activity and business growth for the Company’s well-established portfolio of laboratory instrumentation and service provision to key academic and research institutes, clinical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical accounts across the West Midlands and Wales region.


Reporting to Capital Equipment Regional Sales Manager:
- Generate sales and promotion of the capital equipment portfolio of products both directly to customers and through the Company’s generalist Account Managers;
- Provide technical support to the sales team including Telebusiness, Regional Account Managers and Regional Distributers;
- Provide advice and support in the preparation of quotations and tenders for Capital Equipment products;
- Fulfil sales and margin targets for the territory;
- Work collaboratively with a variety of functions across the business to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service;
- Establish relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure support for business growth via joint marketing activity and price support;
- Communicate in an accurate and timely manner with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of key tasks;
- Organise customer visits, attend independently or with regional Account Manager;
- Organise and participate in local customer seminars, exhibitions etc.;
- Participate in local sales training/meetings.


- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a science subject;
- Ability to demonstrate a record of success in a previous sales role is highly desirable, particularly in markets with direct relevance to the Company’s business;
- Extensive experience of using analytical equipment in a laboratory;
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers;
- Consultative selling style;
- Highly personable and the ability to help customers feel confident;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral);
- Warm friendly personality and ability to build strong relationships;
- Full UK driving licence;
- Home location within the territory boundaries: postcodes B, CF, CW, DE, DY, GL, HR, LD, NP, SA, SK, ST, SY, TF, WR, WS, WV.


- £26,000 to £33,000 (depending on experience and qualifications), plus 25% bonus OTC;
