Global Mobility Specialist - Birmingham - In-house Opportunity

As the Global Mobility Specialist, you'll act as an escalation point for assignment and mobility issues across UK, Continental Europe and Middle East regions and act as mobility advisor to the business line representatives and HR Business Advisors. You'll report into the UK Regional Lead of Internal Mobility whom primarily managing expatriate and short time assignments for the regions above. You'll cover a combination of regional and business-aligned responsibilities, specifically assignment case management across all divisions.

The Role

As the Global Mobility Specialist, you'll:

*Partner with aligned divisions (particularly with HR Generalists and divisional managers) as primary point of contact to determine the appropriate assignment package and deliver solutions to meet strategic business mobility needs
*Ensure service deliverables, cost estimates and assignment initiations are delivered to internal clients in a timely manner by working with Global Mobility counterparts in other regions and HR Transaction Management teams
*Provide high quality consulting services and advice to internal clients on assignment costings, compensation packages and tax treatment of deferred compensation vesting during an assignment, assignment policies, practices and relocation matters
*Counselling of relocating employees on their mobility benefits and assignment packages as required
*Working with aligned divisions to control and manage expatriate and relocation costs
*Day to day case management of the existing expatriate population including dealing with ad hoc queries or escalations typically from the employee, line manager or HR Generalist (e.g. tax, immigration, housing, medical insurance, other expat benefits)
*Partnering with HR's external service providers on individual assignment cases and at a regional program level.
*Manage policy exception requests
*Participation in HR deferred compensation and year-end processes and partner with HR Generalists and Comp Advisors regarding assignment specific comp round matters
*Assist with regional audit and regulatory requirements, as required
*Participate in other HR related projects, as required

The Person

*Proven experience in global expatriate assignment management (essential)
*Knowledge of full range of Reward product areas (Compensation, Benefits & Employee Mobility)
*Knowledge of HR tasks and concepts, especially the range of 'typical' expatriate benefits, as well as appreciation of the relevant employment and immigration law and the fundamentals of tax and social security laws relating to international assignments
*Excellent organization and prioritization skills;
*Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task
*Good Microsoft Office skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
*Effective communication skills across business lines, geographies, and seniority levels
*Effective conflict management skills
