As a Commercial Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that you provide financial and commercial direction to the Asset Management Centre of Excellence. You will be accountable for ensuring all aspects of the commercial solution satisfy the business requirements for both External and Internal Customers. Play the lead role in interacting with the AMCE operators on commercial topics and providing commercial guidance, reporting and advice to meet the challenge of EBIT targets. Managing the AMCE Finance team to ensure quality customer service and accurate and up to date charging mechanisms are in place.

This role can be based in either Rugby or Manchester but will require regular travel between to two site and on occasion outside of these two locations.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;

To be part of the senior AMCoE finance team and to provide financial expertise and operational understanding relating to the AMCoE operation
To support the AMCoE departmental managers and wider field based management team in their service provision to DSC
Lead the financial reporting, developing financials and operational statistics to promote awareness within the Operational Community ensuring contracted savings are accurately captured
Assist and support forecast and budgeting models including uploading Essbase templates
To lead a team of finance staff ensuring roles are properly defined and clear priorities are known at all levels
Support and drive operational targets where possible to improve financial performances
Drive and control the setting of direction and strategies for the team that form part of the wider DPDHL business and Finance strategies
Manage AMCE budget and ensure delivery to targets
Accountable for the provision of all financial information for the AMCE business
Production and delivery of both Financial and Non Financial MIS for AMCE and Internal Site Stakeholders
Understanding and managing Sources of Profit
Provide financial support and challenge to BD AMCE
Accountable for providing accurate and timely monthly/Quarterly/Annual reporting to DSC/Transport Team
Accountable for providing correct, timely and complete Budget and Forecast information, to SL EMEA SMT/SL Global Team/DSC MLEMEA Reporting team
Support Business Development on potential business growth by providing accurate analysis, reporting and tax/VAT advise
Accountable for managing all internal and external audit - manage the business to provide correct and complete information in order to support successful year end results
Drive overall quality improvements of monthly results in order to reduce impacts from previous months adjustments
Accountable for reconciliation of all Financial systems
Responsible for ensuring the robustness of all financial, transactional and approval processes
Support the preparation of BCA documents for signoff including P&L, cash flows
Accountable for Correct and timely processing of AP invoices and timely payments to suppliers
Responsible for full, timely and accurate reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

Extensive Financial experience and understanding with regards to transport operations and systems
Understand Trading & Balance Sheets ownership from customer invoicing to supplier payments, able to take part in the budgeting & forecasting process
Oracle housekeeping to avoid late PO charges, invoice rejection penalties and oversight of PO ageing
Update, monitor and review weekly site quicks reporting including reconciliations to general ledger
Professionally qualified or working towards CIMA/AAT
Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Advanced Excel understanding
Strong commercial focus
Ability to drive agendas
P&L ownership experience
Experience managing a small team would be advantageous
