Sales and Product Development Manager
The Role: Full time, permanent
Location: The position will be based at our Group Head Office in Aston, Birmingham.
Remuneration: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Pura Facades forms part of the VIVALDA Group PLC, which has an annual turnover of £30 million. We are the fastest growing company within the Group, with the highest annual increase in sales and a turnover of over £6 million. Pura Facades head office is based in London, and we have an office in Birmingham to supply the Midlands and the North of England areas.
VIVALDA Group PLC has been in operation since 1999, and operates out of 8 facilities across the UK. The Group is expanding fast out of recession and Pura Facades is a key growth priority as it provides the all-important specifications arm for the Group.
We supply high end natural architectural facade materials including lightweight concrete, terracotta and brick slip panels that are used on sports stadiums, refurbished or new commercial offices, luxury apartment complexes and university buildings. Pura Facades has strong relationships with its suppliers and clients alike, and we enjoy a strong bond between our internal Companies.
We work with technical building contractors and architects on billion pound complexes as well as much smaller modern residences similar to those featured on Grand Designs, supplying high value materials. The Group is known for having a successful and effective sales force, and an experienced and effective management team. The Managing Director and Directors are involved in the day to day running of the business and are always accessible.
We are looking for an individual who wants to know everything about the facade cladding products you will be selling, including viewing buildings enveloped in them and visiting the factories where they are made.
You will become our internal specialist who can educate our high level building contractor customers and architects and sell these natural facade materials.
Brick slips in particular are a growth area in facade cladding, and we retain exclusive sales rights for the UK. The product comes from France and is well priced for the market. The quality and service is very good. Terracotta is present in a lot of architect specifications, our Spanish product is exclusive to us and very well priced, with quick lead times.
We also sell an interesting waxed timber cladding frame product, which can be curved and shaped. This is popular to create interesting solar shading areas on buildings or to add interest and aesthetic to a dull facade.
We already have some sales for these products, but would now like to grow and develop having successfully tested the market. This is the reason for recruiting for a product leader now.
Product development and innovation are responsible for driving business growth and customer value through the identification, development and launch of existing products.
The Sales and Product Development Manager will play a key role in identifying customer requirements and supplying our quality products across the construction industry. The role will bring clarity to the future ambition of our business.
The role holder will be an integral team member, closely involved in all aspects of our sales and future developments, with the support of the Managing Director, Technical Director and teams within the Group.
Maintain an up-to-date and in depth understanding of the construction industry.
Understand customer and market needs.
Lead the development of customer requirements.
Lead the definition of brick slip and terracotta cladding products.
Lead the development and delivery of the product requirements, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive sales.
Lead and co-ordinate between requirements of the commercial, technical and operational side of the business to develop and deliver distinctive, valuable and achievable results.
Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, customers and architects.
Product development initiatives can include:
Developing new channels/routes to market.
Strategy, Roadmap and Planning.
Define and document a compelling future 'target state' for products including the strategy and product development activities required to deliver it.
Support the development and implementation of the product roadmap, working with stakeholders to identify, negotiate and agree the best way forward.
Ensure that all legal, regulatory and statutory obligations are met within own area of responsibility.
Comply with all requirements from regulatory bodies.
Support and demonstrate company values.
Keep up to date with any industry wide developments.
Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
Participate in training as required and build on own professional development and expertise.
Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others whilst at work.
Minimum 5 GCSE's and 2 A Levels or equivalent
Minimum 2 years experience of selling and representing brands within the wider construction industry/products with an element of technical detail or experience within an architectural/technical role.
Experience of developing ideas/strategies from concept stage with a strong track record of delivery and leadership.
Sound commercial awareness, building business cases and leading major developments in partnership with a wide range of corporate cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Flexibility in terms of travel will be required, with regular meetings in our offices throughout the UK. Occasional European travel with overnight stays will also be a requirement for this role.
