Probe Technical recruitment is currently working with an International Design Consultancy to source a Principal Engineer for their Birmingham City Centre Office.

This is a permanent position for someone who is potentially looking to take the next step up to Principal level, develop client relationships as well as keeping your hand in the technical field.

DUTIES:

- Design responsibility for building structures projects across the Midlands
- Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD software
- Manage a team of technicians and designers, and liaise with external contractors and architects where required.
- Attend site meetings to discuss projects
- Attend client meetings and look to develop commercial acumen to eventually lead on business agreements and win new business for the office.

Suitable applicants will:

- Be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Structural/Civil Engineering
- Be a Chartered Engineer
- Have at least 5 years' post graduate experience
- Be an experienced structural engineer working on building structures and have a good working knowledge of materials steel/concrete timber, masonry and use of design software
- Be a "hands-on" engineer who can also lead a team
