My clientare a progressive, dynamic organisation that specialise in the repair, restoration and insurance recovery of heritage buildings. They have a prestigious and diverse portfolio of satisfied clients including Historic Royal Palaces, Oxford Colleges and English Heritage; collaborating with leading Insurers and Loss Adjusters on high net-worth buildings throughout the UK.

Theyhave experienced sustained growth and continue to expand as their reputation grows within this sector and are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Quantity Surveyor to join their innovative and proactive team.

You will have the opportunity to drive the business forward, represent the business to clients and help the business continue to deliver the excellent quality of service they have become renowned for over the past 30 years. The ideal candidate will be RICS qualified or working towards it and will haveseveral years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a pre- and post-contract background. In addition, they should be responsible, ethically minded, highly organised and commercially focused.

- Planning and management of several simultaneous projects, from conceptual stages through to the execution of the project.
- Planning, controlling and reporting on costs during the post contract phase.
- Travel to sites around the UK to review progress with our Site Managers - initially this will likely involve travel to Oxford one day per week and Norfolk one day per week. Going forward, most weeks will require one or two nights spent away.
- Providing insurance valuations on properties across multiple sectors including retail, commercial and residential.
- Liaising with clients at multiple levels, from site managers on a day to day basis to director level, within a variety of sectors.
- Reviewing RFI's with site manager on a weekly basis and providing assistance.
- Management of sub-contract valuation accounts and agreeing monthly valuations.
- Preparation and issue of monthly project valuations.
- Advising on betterment and regular liaison with the Loss Adjuster and Insured.
- Management of design team including preparation of procurement programmes for delivery of design information (Management Contracting).
- Buildability reviews of design information with Site Manager.
- Reviewing tender design drawings/specifications and ensuring the full scope of work is included in the respective trade package


- Ideally MRICS qualified.
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience focused in post-contract work.
- If experience is in private practice, pre- and post-contract work will be required.
- Project management.
- Cost management.
- Background in historic or listed building surveying is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills

- Location - Birmingham (Visits to Sites Across the UK)
- Salary - £45,000 - £60,000 + Car Allowance + Performance Based Bonus
